We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones healthy and ready for the start of our 2023-24 season. We would like to thank everyone who made last season such a great success – our Landowners, staff, subscribers, and volunteers.
We are honored to welcome Josh Warren as the new huntsman as he brings a plethora of hunting experience and enthusiasm to the future of Loudoun Fairfax Hunt. Josh has worked stateside with the Middleburg Hunt and two terms with the Orange County Hunt. Across the pond, Josh has amateur whipped in at the Quorn Hunt, was a whipper-in at Essex Hunt, a kennel huntsman with Berwickshire and Curre and Llangibby Hunt, and served as huntsman for the Essex with Farmers and Union Hunt and Monmouthshire Hunt.
The new hunt season is only days away! Josh and the hounds are in full preparation for opening of cubbing on September 3rd.
LFH is currently looking for an additional staff horse. Please contact Master David Moyes if you know of a good candidate (preferably over 16h) that succeed in filling this need.
We anticipate the arrival of Josh’s wife Kate and their daughter Lily mid-August. We are planning to have a welcome party and puppy auction on September 2nd. Please look out for details on our social media sites and email correspondence.
The foxes appear plentiful this year and we anticipate great sport and opportunities to socialize as a hunt club both in and out of the hunt field. We expect a regular first, second, and third field on Sundays and will gladly provide a third field if requested on Fridays.
The subscription letter is attached to this email. Please note, when writing your dues check for the 2023-2024 year, please make it out to Loudoun Fairfax Hunt. If mailing your check, please send it to Treasurer, Rita Kaseman, at 17100 Twin Maple Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176. We pride ourselves on our welcoming nature and expect we will continue as the best value for fox hunting in the area this year.
Josh has been working hard on the kennels and stable and we welcome all the volunteer help and donations of materials you can offer as we make upgrades to our facilities and continue our trail clearing efforts. Please reach out to Josh to help outside of hunt-coordinated events.
Please contact David or Michael if you have any questions.
